Monaco – a tiny but indisputably the most glamorous principality, ruled by the House of Grimaldi since the 13th century, represents for the last 100 years a paradise for high class gamblers and one of the last places on earth where you can see Rolls-Royce with livered chauffeurs driving wealthy exiles, huge private yachts and exotic beauties with eye-popping jewelry.

The Grand Casino of Monte Carlo: a marvelous architectural building in “Belle Epoque” style designed by Charies Garnier (the grand architect of the Paris Opera) and inaugurated in 1863. The inside interior is very glamorous: marble, onyx columns, sculptures and paintings, very extravagant.

To enter this gambling “paradise” you have to follow a certain dress code: for gentlemen is jacket and tie an absolute must – black tie is no longer required. As for ladies, “resort chic” is expected – means highly elegant appearance is required. Please note, that your passport will be required for entrance to the casino and do your self a favor (and I mean it!): if you are NOT at least 18 years old – choose another place to spend your evening – no chance for you to enter here!!!

The casino is has an intimate atmosphere and it is not that large – has several rooms with various games of chance available in each room. A small superstition: before you start to play, don’t forget to rub the left knee of the bronze statue of Louis XIV’s horse in the lobby – for good luck!!!!

Before or after you hit the tables in casino, I suggest that you may stop at the fashionable Café de Paris and enjoy their coctails or the famous crêpe Suzette, invented here in the early 1900s.

Have fun and BONNE CHANCE!
